As a mother of two rambunctious boys, I have a lot of very dirty washing. I seem to always have an abundance of clothes that need to be washed, hung out, folded or put away, so I am always looking for a way to make this job a little easier.
As I only wash in cold water and prefer to throw all my clothes in together, I look for a washing powder that can cope with both. I was given a packet of Radiant No Sort to review and have been impressed at how our clothes have come out looking so clean and fresh.
Radiant is a well known brand of washing powder whose goal is to keep your cloths looking as vibrate as possible.
The colour guard technology uses:
* anti-dye transfer technology to help prevent colour bleeding
* anti-greying technology for whiter whites
*anti-fuzz technology for sharper colours
As a way of showing you how this colour guard technology, Radiant created Radiant Return. They chose real people (2 best mates and one of their girlfriends) to test their product. These people purchased 14 pieces of clothing, tortured them before washing them with Radiant and then returned them to the shops they were purchased from.
You can watch one of the episodes below.
Radiant’s range suits both front loaders and top loaders and comes in a choice of liquid, powder and capsules.
There are three great varieties available, all containing Colour Guard Technology:
*Brilliant Whites Sharper Colours
*No-Sort
*Sensitive.
My Results
I was really quite happy with the way the detergent worked. I filled my 8kg Front Loader washing machine with clothes that had not been treated with pre-stain. I mixed all colours and put it on a cold wash for a normal cycle.
The stains that didn’t come out were on clothes that had been in the boys cupboard for quite some time. I was quite surprised that these shirts, that had been sitting in the cupboard and used as old clothes, the stains were starting to fade from the first wash. I found the Radiant powder to have a fresh smell and there was no transfer of colour with the new clothes we washed. Overall, we were very pleased at how well this product worked.
The above photo shows one of our boys shirts that had been stained for a while, so they were not fresh stains, but look how well it looked after it had been washed with Radiant.
This one really surprised me. I mopped the floor and then washed the cloth straight away with Radiant. I was really surprised at how well the dirt came out.

Hi Stacey.
I could most use Radiant White for front loaders. I’m impressed with your results.

The variety of Radiant I most need is No Sort because I’m LAZY and my kids are MESSY! I think I can rely on Radiant to help us out on both counts!

We always use sensitive as my middle boy often has skin issues.
Love your mop picture.

Yes No sort would really suit us as I hate sorting the dirty washing

We would choose No sort,as I do 10 loads a week and having to sort out the different colours and whites all the times takes up a lot of time, both my kids still at home have ASD and Allergies and they change clothes a lot if they even get 1 speck on them. And as for towels my youngest wont use a towel to dry her hands that others in the house might of touched so I wash heaps of towels per week.

No sort would be a help here. Ms 9 trying to learn to help with the washing of the 7 of us and accidents do happen. We wash at least 1 or 2 loads a day and god help sheet washing day…

As I rely totally on tank water, Radiant No Sort would allow me to minimise the number of washes I do, which in turn would help me to save precious water.

I’d love to try Brilliant Whites Sharper Colours Powder Capsules for two reasons:
1) I always manage to spill laundry powder when measuring! The capsules would be quicker and cleaner to use.
2) Our brightly coloured clothes and whites both lose their fresh, new look too soon. Keeping our clothes looking good for longer would be a relief for my wallet!

Let me indulge you in this short rhyme
I’ll take you back to once upon a time
A mother bought school socks, whiter than white
They looked so clean, so crisp, so bright
But after a few wears, the socks gathered dirt
And mother, she scrubbed and scrubbed til it hurt
But try as she might, the socks stayed black
She knew in her heart there was no going back
She’s tried liquids, and powders, even laundry soap
Maybe RADIANT Brilliant Whites will revive them and give mother hope!
