Peaches and Cream Smoothie

Peaches and Cream Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is a great way to use an extra peaches that you may have left over from peach season. It is a wonderful way to start the day, or to cool down and relax on hot, summers day.

Though this recipe calls for frozen peaches, you can use fresh peaches if that is what you have on hand. Using fresh peaches will result in a thinner consistency, and a milder peach flavour. You could also use canned peaches if you have them, though depending what they are in, they may be a little sweet. Just make sure to add ¾ cup of ice cubes to your smoothie before blending to make your smoothie extra delicious.

Freezing Peaches for Smoothies

If you have an abundance of peaches that you want to freeze for smoothies or desserts, wash the peaches and cut them into slices.

Place the slices onto a lined baking tray and place in the freezer. Once frozen, transfer to an airtight ziplock container.

Smoothie Variations

This smoothie tastes amazing just the way it is, though if you have other ingredients on hand, you can add them or change up this recipe to suit your needs.

  • Make it sweeter by adding some honey, maple syrup, stevia, or other sweetener
  • For a thicker smoothie, add some ice cubes before processing
  • Try adding frozen banana pieces to this smoothie
  • Not a fan of banana? Try using frozen mango, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or pineapple instead
  • Try adding 3 pitted medjool dates to your smoothie
  • Swap out the cinnamon for a pinch of nutmeg
  • Try swapping out the milk for orange juice
  • Try adding a small amount of chia seeds, flaxseeds or hemp seeds for an extra boost
  • If you have a favourite protein powder, add a small scoop to the smoothie
  • Turn your smoothie into a smoothie bowl by using less liquid and/or more frozen fruit to make the smoothie extra thick and creamy
  • Add a handful of greens such as kale, or spinach
  • Try adding a spoonful of almond butter or peanut butter
  • Try a different type of milk such as almond milk, coconut milk or even coconut water
  • For a chocolate taste, add a small scoop of cocoa powder and top with cacao nibs

Storing Smoothies

Smoothies are made to be enjoyed immediately.

If you can’t enjoy immediately, the smoothie mixture can be refrigerated for a few hours, though it may separate. Just shake or mix before enjoying.

Smoothie mixture can also be frozen for up to three months.

Try freezing extra smoothie in popsicle containers for a delicious cold treat.
