We have been learning about Spain and famous Spanish people when we came across the artist, Pablo Picasso and his paintings.
The boys thought his paintings looks really strange and colourful, but they really wanted to try them.
For these paintings we used:
black marker
lead pencil
watercolour paints
watercolour paper
What we did:
The first thing the boys did was draw the picture using a lead pencil, so that it was easy to erase if they made a mistake.
They drew an oval for the face, then added the neck.
This was followed by a wavy line down the middle of the face to include the nose.
Then they added the lips and eyes and filled in the background.
After they had finished drawing them with the lead pencil, they traced over their lines with a black marker.
Then they painted their pictures using water colour paints.
I think they turned out great.
What do you think?
