On Monday, 3rd May we decided to go to O’Reilly’s, which is situated in Lamington National Park, via the Duck Creek Road. The Duck Creek Road is a dirt track that is for 4wds only. It was a good drive up to the top of the mountain, but it was hard to find a park.
We didn’t think that it would be so busy, even for a public holiday. We took the shortest walk in the forest, as the boys are still only small, and fed the birds. We also went for a walk in the Green Mountain Gardens. It was a cool and refreshing day!
The dirt track looks like it is well maintained and was a very winding track.
There were a few lookouts and quite a few places to stop on the way to have a look at the fabulous views.
Upon reaching O’Reilly’s at the top, we went on a short walk – The Tree Top Walk.
And then fed some of the brightly coloured birds before having a bite to eat.
Then it was time to head back home, heading back down Duck Creek Road
