Language Arts
- Pick words in the book that are new to you and create your own Little House Dictionary
- Write an ‘old-fashioned’ journal of a day or week in the life of a pioneer
- Research the author, Laura Ingalls
- Pa told the girls lots of stories they could learn lessons from. Write a short story in which a person could learn a lesson from.
- Read each story that Pa told the girls and explain what lesson is learnt from each of them
- As you read, take note of the variety of dangers that the family may encounter, list these dangers, chose one and illustrate it.
- Write a journal entry on the comparing and contrasting the characters of Mary and Laura.
Music
- Invite a fiddler to come and play for you
- Listen to or learn to sing some of the songs in the book

- Research the names of the people in the book to find out the meanings
