Lap of Oz: Day 58 WA

Day 58

Day 58

Today we had a little sleep in before heading to the NT/WA border. We were a little unsure of what was going to happen when we arrived at the border as we had heard some horror stories.

But the boys were really excited about travelling into a new state and were asking every 5 minutes, if we were there yet? Finally, we arrived, taking our border photo before entering into the quarantine area.

On stopping at the Quarantine Area, we were asked to open the caravan and the guy looked through our fridge and pantries in the van and the fridge in the car. We did have some sliced up tomatoes that we hadn’t finished which he took and threw out, but other than that it was quite a quick and easy experience. Nothing like the stories we had heard.

We then drove into Kununurra as we had booked into the Kimberleyland Holiday Park for the next 3 nights. They have a special running at the moment: 20% off when you book in for 3 nights or more.

We were booked into site 414, close to the pool and Lake Kununurra. At sunset we walked down to see the Sleeping Buddha in the middle of the lake and saw thousands of bats heading out for the night.
