Day 4

Day 4

After having a filling breakfast, we headed for the Carnarvon Gorge Visitor Area. This is where the main walking track starts. We headed off at 9:15am, finally arriving back to the car, exhausted at 4:30pm that afternoon.

The boys had an amazing time and did extremely well, walking over 16 km in 7 1/4 hours. We saw some spectacular sights, completed many creek crossing and really had a good day.

First, we walked all the way to the Art Gallery and saw some amazing Aboriginal Rock Art.

After spending some time, reading the signs and taking in the art, we headed back down the trail to Ward’s Canyon. This was a very steep walk with many steps, but it was really worth it!

It was also really quite cool, which was a great to cool you down during the long walk.

After a cool break, we headed off on our next walk to the Amphitheatre.  After the walk down the path, there is a ladder that you will need to climb to get into the Amphitheatre.

Our last stop was the Moss Garden. This was really quite a cool and such a beautiful place.

The last 3km from the Moss Garden back to the start of the walking trail was the hardest. We were all getting quite tired by this stage, but we had to just keep walking to get back to the car. The scenery was awesome, which helped to keep us going.
