Jesus Heals Blind Man Story

The story about Jesus healing a man that was born blind can be found in John 9. This story begins with Jesus walking along and meeting a man that was born blind.

In the times of the Bible, people thought that terrible illnesses or diseases were caused because of a terrible sin that their parents had committed. Jesus made sure to tell the people that this man’s blindness was not the result of any sin he had committed or that his parents had committed. The man was born blind so that God can do something amazing to him.

Jesus also told the people that He was the light of the world. The blind man had never seen light. All he ever knew was darkness and standing next to him was Jesus – the light of the world.

Jesus then took some dirt and mix it with some saliva to make mud. Jesus then gently spread this mud on the eyes of the man who was born blind. He told the man to wash his face in the pool of Siloam.

When the blind man did as he was told, he was healed! Jesus brought light to this man!

Some people weren’t happy about this miracle. Some didn’t believe that this healed man was the same person that had been born blind. Others were angry that Jesus did ‘work’ on the Sabbath day. The healed man and his parents were questioned by neighbours and church leaders.
