Having a strong foundation of skip counting is a must for things such as multiplication and telling the time. This Hopping Numbers printable pack is a fun way to introduce children to ski counting by 2’s, 3’s, 5’s and 10’s.
For each of the numbers (2, 3, 5 and 10) there are two worksheets. The first one contains a number line, showing how to skip count by the number. Next there is an area where children fill in the missing numbers. The third activity on this page is where children add the skip number to the numbers written there.
To complete the worksheet, children may use counters or beads with this if they need to. They could also use the second worksheet. This is a number grid with all the numbers from 1 through to one hundred. The skip counting numbers are all coloured to help children understand how to count in the specific skip number they are learning. This page could also be laminated for durability and kept for reference.
