Learning about purchasing items with money is a great skill for kids to have. These Garage Sale Worksheets are a great hands-on approach, combined with some worksheets to help children learn money.
Garage Sale Worksheets
This Garage Sale Worksheet pack provides hours of learning with money. There are hands-on activities that can be enjoyed alongside the worksheets.
At the start of the pack, there are three sets of cards. Two of the sets of cards have prices (two different prices, one easy and one hard for older students) for the garage sale items on them. The third set doesn’t have the prices. These can be written in yourself if you wish. If the cards are laminated, then you can reuse them by writing on them with a dry-erase marker and wiping it off.
These cards can be used in conjunction with the purchase cards. These cards can also be laminated and reused if you wish. With these cards, children can choose up to four items and then add up the total for them. They could also use this to work out the change that will be given from a certain amount of money.
The cards can also be used with the Garage Sale Mat.
For durability, I recommend laminating these mats as well. Children can then use them to place one or two garage sale items on the bottom left hand corner or even on the house and then count out the correct money with either real or play money.
There are also two different sets of worksheets. The first set contains a list of items and prices at the top of the page followed by a scenario. Children will use the items and prices at the top of the page to work out the answers to the scenario.
The second set of worksheets have the items set up like a garage sale towards the bottom of the page with the scenario at the top of the page. These worksheets are good for learning to add items and work out change.
This pack comes in colour and black and white versions.
