With the weather warming up here we have been out doing a little bit of gardening. While planting some seeds, the boys were asking all sorts of questions about fruit and vegetables. I created these fruit cards to help them with some of the most popular fruits.
Printable Fruit Cards
To use these cards:
- Matching cards – use as cards matching the pictures to the words.
- Matching game – Print out two copies of the cards and use in games such as memory and fish.
- Copywork – Have your child look at the card with the picture and writing on it and ask your child to copy the name of the fruit.
- Spelling – Hold up the card of the fruit without the words and ask your child to spell the name of the fruit
- Sorting – Ask your child to sort the cards into colours, or ones that start with the same beginning letter or sort fruits in one pile and vegetables in another pile – You can get the vegetable cards here.
- Research – Older children can use these cards to start researching about different types of fruits, how they grow, where they grow etc.
