We have been using our France Cultural Exchange package as part of our study of France. France is such an amazing country and we have been learning lots with the printable France Study I created.

The first thing we did in our France study, was to make the French flag using lego. We always try to incorporate a lego activity as the boys love building with it.

After reading some books about France that we borrowed from the library, the boys decided to try and build the Eiffel Tower with their legos as well.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on which construction started in January 1887. The boys looked at quite a few different pictures of the Eiffel Tower before beginning their construction. They were able to make it quite high without it falling over.

Next we decided to try some French food. We made a French Sandwich called a Croque Madame for breakfast.

Tarte a la Ganache

We also made a Tarte la Ganache, otherwise known as a Chocolate Tart for dessert that night. Both recipes were quite simple to make and enjoyed by all of us.

Another fun hands-on activity we completed was to make a Paris Paper City. This was a great activity for the boys to build. If your children like to colour in, they could make it even better. Our boys are really into colouring.

To go with our city, the boys made a bicycle, symbolises the Tour De France, out of a pipe cleaner. We didn’t have any instructions for this, we just did it free hand.

Claude Monet is a famous French artist which we learned about in the books we read. I printed one of his more famous pictures out and the boys painted a copy of it, using a sponge instead of paintbrushes.

Of course, in France, the main language in French. We listened to some French Youtube videos on how to pronounce the numbers and completed a colour by French number activity I found on the internet.
After all of this, we completed this amazing France Country Study. To complete this study you will have to provide your child with books relating to France and/or access to the internet for them to research the country for the answers.
