Fraction Cards

Are you looking for a way to introduce fractions to your kids? Then these Fraction Cards are what you need.

Fraction Cards

Materials Needed:

  • white paper
  • printer
  • scissors
  • binder ring
  • laminator

Children will enjoy using these cards to learn about all the fractions from ½ through to 9/10.

To prepare these Ccards:

Grab your copy of the file by clicking on the link below.

Print out the pages, and then cut out the boxes on the solid grey lines.

In this pack, there are 3 cards for each fraction. I prefer to laminate for durability, though this is my personal choice.

To Use these Cards:

Have your child count the shaded in shapes. Then they will read the fraction. Once they have completed this, then they can search through the rest of the cards and find the matching cards.

If you print two copies out, children can use the two copies of the full cards in matching and memory games.

This pack includes such a variety of cards for different fractions, children will gain so much knowledge from them.

These cards can be used for young children, to introduce them to the different fractions. They are great for visual learners as they can read the fraction and then see it, through the different shapes, counting the ones that are coloured in.

It could also be used in a math centre for early finishers as well as a fun review activity.

To help, each denominator has a different colour eg. 10 is pink, 4 is purple.

This pack comes in colour, though it could easily be printed in grayscale if you wish, then children could use a brightly coloured marker to colour in the fractions.
