DIY Mold and Mildew Spray

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure policy.

Mold is not welcome in my home and I have tried many things to get rid of it. These days, most homes have small amounts of mold, especially in wet places like the bathroom. It is very important to clean this off as quickly as possible before it becomes a major problem. To do this, I have created a natural mold and mildew spray to help combat this problem. I use this mold and mildew spray that contains both vinegar and tea tree essential oil, both of which are known for helping combat mold.

To make this mold and mildew spray, you will need:

  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Melaleuca  Essential Oil (aka Tea Tree Oil)
  • Lemon Essential Oil
  • Clove Essential Oil
  • Orange Essential Oil
  • Water
  • Empty, glass spray bottle that holds at least 1 cup or 250ml

Fill your spray bottle with 1 cup vinegar.

Fill the rest of the bottle with water.

Add

  • 10 drops  Melaleuca Alternifolia Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Lemon Essential Oil
  • 12 drops Clove Essential Oil
  • 12 drops Orange Essential Oil

Screw your spray lid on tightly and shake before use.

Generously spray over tiles, tubs, showers and sinks with lurking mold or mildew and walk away.

If these areas already have existing mold stains, it is a good idea to treat them first. Hydrogen peroxide is great for naturally bleaching these marks away. This all-natural cleaner will kill the fungus while helping to prevent future growth.
