Published in 1964, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows the story of a young boy named Charlie Bucket. Charlie lives in poverty in a tiny house with his parents and four grandparents. Charlie’s grandfather, Grandpa Joe tells Charlie the story about the eccentric chocolatier, Willy Wonka and his chocolate factory. When the newspaper announces that Mr. Wonka is reopening his factory and will invite five children, who are lucky enough to find a golden ticket, to come on a tour through his chocolate factory, Charlie can only dream of winning one of the tickets. After finding a coin in the snow, he buys himself a Wonka Bar. Upon opening it, he finds the fifth golden ticket. What do Grandpa Joe and Charlie find when during their tour of the chocolate factory?
