Celery Rose Paintings

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure policy.

We have tried painting with many different mediums, but we have never tried with celery until now.  The boys really enjoyed painting these roses with the cut of end of celery.

Celery Rose Paintings

We just cut the end about 10cm off the bottom (the kids need something to hold onto) of a bunch of celery and then dried it with paper towel before dabbing it in different coloured paint.

We used a piece of celery for the green leaves.

We think they would make great wrapping paper!

Or you could use them on the front of cards!

Cute idea! I would never think about using celery. And you’re right – it would make really adorable wrapping paper! Pinned!

We used to do this kind of artwork in grade school. We also used cucumber (the imprints made by the seeds are nice) and carrots (we’d carve out ridges on the carrot first to create a star shaped imprint).
