The Brinkman Adventures Season 2: Episodes 13-24 from Brinkman Adventures came at just the right time for us. We were off on a 2 week holiday with a 10+ hour drive there and back. Instead of watching dvd’s in the car, we listened to Season 2 of the Brinkman Adventures. Our boys love listening to audio cd’s so I just knew they would love this radio drama and they did.

The Brinkman Adventures is a radio drama series of family friendly stories about a large family who are attempting to help missionaries around the world. It is based on a real family about real life events of missionaries. You can read the story behind each episode on their website. Both Series 1 and 2 consist of 12 episodes (stories) on 4 cds that are around 30 minutes each. A total of over 5 hours of captivating drama!

Series 2 consists of Episodes 13 to 24.

  • Episode 2 – Blue Hat and T-Shirt Bible
  • Episode 3 – How Big is Your God 1
  • Episode 4 – How Big is Your God 2

As well as listening to the Brinkman Adventures Season2 in car on our trip, the boys have been listening to it during the day while playing with their lego. We have also had it playing on all of our longer car trips since we have been back. They have listened to it some many times it is unbelievable!

We have found the stories to be really well written and entertaining. The Biblical message in each episode is very encouraging and uplifting. It is also great to hear how God is working in peoples’ lives.

At the start of some of the episodes there is a caution: Children under 10 should have an adult present as some of the scenes may be a little intense for the little children. Both of our boys are under 10. They asked a couple of questions but they were fine with the material in the scenes.  They needed a little help understanding child slavery  (Sapphire Slave 1 and 2) and why people want to persecute Christians (Hadi’s Choice). They did love listening to how God answers prayers and provides what is needed.

After listening to the whole season, we decided to check out their website and read the real stories behind the episodes. The boys really enjoyed reading through the stories behind the scenes and then they found the fun stuff tab which they thought was awesome too. The boys also found that Season 1 is available and they asked for that. We have just purchased Season 1 and they have already listened to that a couple of times as well. They are currently going through Season 1 and 2, listening to an episode every night before bed.

The boys have loved listening to this radio drama series!  We have found that they are a great way to learn about missions and how the Gospel is spread. It really is fabulous family entertainment that children of all ages can enjoy!

You can listen to an episode for free on their website if you would like to see if your family would love them too.
