Learn about nine different animals that suck blood to survive with this Bloodsuckers Research Flip Book.

Bloodsuckers Research Flip Book

The practice by some animals feeding on the blood of other animals is known as Hematophagy. Some of these creatures are creepy and many transmit diseases from one host to another. Some of these animals feed on blood from humans, while others live on blood from other animals. 

Blood is a fluid that is needed for life. Sometimes the creatures that these bloodsuckers feed on, can get very sick due to receiving a disease that has been transmitted or from lack of blood. Sometimes an animal can pass away due to these parasites.

This bloodsuckers printable contains information for children on nine different creature that feed on blood:

  • flea
  • head louse
  • leech
  • hood mockingbird
  • mosquito
  • oxpecker
  • tick
  • sea lamprey
  • vampire bat
  • There is also a page for information about blood

In this flip book, you will receive one page of information about each of the ten objects as well as the flip book. This information page can be used to complete the flip book, though it would be good for children to do their own research. The pages of the flip book include spots for children to record their research in their own words as well as draw pictures if they wish.

  • Habitat of the creature
  • There is another place for children to write or draw any interesting thoughts that they have on these creatures after researching them

The last page of the flip book contains places for children to write about blood. There information needed for this page is:

  • What is it?
  • Why is it needed?
  • What is in blood?
  • Blood Types
  • There are also two empty spaces for children to draw or write their own interesting facts in
