This Alphabet Train Printable Activity can be used to learn the alphabet and is also great for spelling simple words, sight words or your child’s name.

The Alphabet Train can be used to learn the alphabet and is also great for spelling.

Materials Needed
  • white paper
  • printer
  • laminator
  • scissors

To use

There are many ways to use this alphabet train, here are some ways that we have used them:

  • Print out all the pages (multiple pages of the second part of the train) on white paper or card and laminate the trains and the individual letters of the alphabet. Place the letters in alphabetical order on the carriages on the train. Print out multiple pages of the letters of the alphabet so that you can use multiple letters for words. Help your child spell their name, simple words like cat and dog and then work your way through the sight words.
  • Print out all the pages (multiple pages of the second part of the train) on white paper or card. Instead of laminating, have your child glue the letters of the alphabet onto the train carriages. Once the whole alphabet has been completed, laminate the train pages and use them as alphabet posters and place them on the walls for your child to refer to when learning the letters of the alphabet.

The Alphabet Train can be used to learn the alphabet and is also great for spelling.

I also have a number train that is available to help your children learning to count. You can download that here: Number Train.
