Alphabet Flowers Cut and Paste Activity

This activity helps children learn the letters of the alphabet, the beginning sounds as well as help them practice their fine motor skills as they cut and paste the pictures into the correct flowers.

To Prepare:

  • Cut out the flower of your choice. Depending on how the flowers are used as to how many you will need – There are two colour and one black and white flowers to choose from.
  • Cut out the circles with the letters of the alphabet
  • Cut out the pictures

Using this Alphabet Flowers Activity

There are many ways to use this activity. Here are a few to give you some ideas.

  • Print out one colour flower and all the alphabet letters and pictures. Laminate all the pieces and place a small piece of velcro on the back of the letters of the alphabet and the pictures as well as in each circle on the flower. Children can place the letters and pictures on the velcro strips. This is a great way if you wish to reuse the activity multiple times, with different children.
  • Print out twenty-six flowers for each child. Print out one set of alphabet letters and pictures and have children cut out all the letters of the alphabet and paste into the middle of the flower. Then they can cut out each of the pictures and place them onto the correct flower. Once completed, they can bind or staple the pages together to make a book.
  • To use the black and white version, print out all the pages and the have your child colour in the flower and the pictures. The activity can then be used either of the ways listed above.
