Alpha-Phonics – A Primer for Beginning Readers by Samuel L. Blumenfeld
There are 128 student lessons written in black writing and white paper and a teacher’s manual written on creamy coloured paper all in one book and currently a free cd-rom, with each of the lessons covering one phonics topic. The different coloured papers made it easy to find what you are looking for.
The lessons have no pictures on the pages, so there is nothing to distract your child from learning. The Teacher’s Manual at the back of the book has brief instructions for each lesson which you can add to, to help your child practice the lesson.
We did one lesson a day with our sons from the book which didn’t take very long and as no writing was involved they loved it and kept them wanting to learn more. (We did add writing from other sources.)
This program can also be adapted to your child. Just go the pace that they can handle and if they need a break, let them have a break and resume where you left off. If you need to repeat a lesson to reinforce what they have just learnt, then you can.
We enjoyed using this program and you will too. This awesome program can be found:
