The Jesse Tree can be used much like an advent calendar. It counts down the days for the coming (birth) of Christ.
Each day an ornament that depicts a story from the Bible is added to a tree.
There are many ways you can do your own Jesse Tree.
This is the way are doing ours.
I purchased a small wooden tree ($5) from Bunnings. We put it together and painted it white. I am using the printables from Confessions of a Homeschooler. I printed them out and glued one picture to the back of a cardboard ornament.
We made up an envelope for each day that ‘houses’ the ornament until it is ready to be used. This way the ornaments are kept neat and tidy and we should be able to reuse them year after year.
I also purchased the book, “The Jesse Tree” by Geraldine McCaughrean. We will read a chapter of the book each day and place the ornament on the tree.
