Did you know?
The name Pumpkin comes from the Greek word ‘pep on‘ which means ‘large melon’. Though they are often thought of as a vegetable, they are actually a fruit as they contain seeds. They belong to the Cucurbitaceae family which also includes squashes and cucumbers. Though believed to be originally from Central America, they are now grown all over the world, except for Antarctica.
